Wild West Party Shopping List
Be sure to read the party agenda and decide what activities you will do or omit so
you don't end up buying or borrowing something you don't need or if you see something
else you know you WILL need and add it to the list!
- Invitations (Check party stores or online party sources)
- Decorations for the party (consider low cost options)
- Western Fonts and pictures for signs: 1001fonts, Rattlesnake Jacks Font Gallery,
Cowboy Clip Art
- sheriff/deputy stars one per guest
- cowboy hats (optional) one per guest
- bandannas --one per guest to be used for other games besides decoration. (See craft
stores or Oriental Trading)
- Squirt guns one per guest; can substitute marshmallow shooter purchase option, marshmallow
shooter (DIY option), nerf guns)
- Holsters or rope to make a holder if you choose to use the guns. If you use rope
for the holster, make a rope belt for each child and they can tuck their water pistol
(nerf or marshmallow shooter) into their rope belt.
- Plastic Snakes (online resources or party or dollar stores)
- Cowboy boots (one set for Snake in the Boot!) Can borrow or try a Goodwill store,
thrift store, or use work boots. It doesn't matter on the size if you have a set
of kids cowboy boots (or know someone that does) those will work!
- Horseshoe game–Can be a kid set or adult set. (borrow or purchase)
- Save tin cans or plastic pop bottles (10+ needed) Ask neighbors, friends or relatives
to help you save them. Clean the out before use.
- bale of hay (optional)
- Rope (cotton blend) for lassos-4-5 feet per guest. Know how much you will need before
purchasing. (Hardware stores)
- Need at least two brooms for "lassoing the horses" (borrow)
- Burlap/potato sacks, old pillow cases or use bandannas for three-legged relay
- Need markers for the start and end of relay (cones, rope or trees work well)
- index cards for Charades
- Country Western music
- Make sure you have a CD player portable for Rattlesnake Ruckus
- Wild, Wild West-find a book or two or story you wish to read for the Campfire stories...
borrow it from the library.
- Campfire--see cautions in Wild West Party. View all safety details with having a
fire with kids. Go over all rules with kids. BE SAFE!!!
- Food and drinks for party
For sleep over option have a copy of movie--(borrow or rent for party)
